Well April 27 our first Redfish event for the year - Galveston Redfish Series.  My partner and I have been on some really good redfish, however, with the southerly winds, incoming tides, etc... turned our very shallow water fishing turned into a foot to a foot and half deep.  As a result of that it spread our redfish out over a larger area and we couldn't find our larger fish.  We got on them with out any problems.  In fact we had our two weigh in fish in less than 20 cast - tried culling for bigger all day... as the day progressed we tried different areas only to find lots of people out and about...

As a result of traveling we ran out of gas in one tank and switch over to another.  After running about one quarter of a mile we went dead in the water...

We couldn't get it started again... tried just about everything... we eventually got towed in... Thanks to David who called Sam... thanks to Sam who called Ian... thanks Ian for coming to get us...
Problem turned out to be the water separater...
Didn't make weigh in  - had close to 13 lbs.

Well it's about a week or two out now from hearing from Chris Coulter about my new Haynie... starting to get excited.  Another guide friend purchase one two weeks before I did and he tested his last weekend.  Wind was  35 + mph and drove streight into it - smoothest ride he's ever experienced... 25 mph cross wind drifts were virtually without any sideways rocking... he's still getting accustomed to it because there's a transition stage and the motor breakin period...

Additionally, he still has his boat and trying to sell... Anyone want a good deal on a Southshore 24 ft. call me... I'll give you his number...

Now, lets look one more time at my new Haynie 25 ft. Magnum... oh yea!!!!

Oh yea, did I mention I'm getting a cap on the boat as to allow walking completely around the boat - yea, walk down the sides from front to back... with rod holders underneath.... oh someone just slap me!

Drafts 10 - 11 inches... on our test runs we'll measure it out for you...
for all you speed deamons - an estimated 60 mph... give or take a little bit...

Well what an ordeal I went through in the process of selling my boat.  I had a issue with my Mercury 250 XS motor - a primer/paint issue.  The paint was literally peeling off the motor.  Started last fall. Got bad real quick. Took to Mercury warranty dealer in Kemaha, TX. It stayed there 3 weeks and not one thing was done to it.  In the mean time, Chris Coulter of Chris's Marine casually mentioned that I bring down to Aransas Pass and he'd have it done in one day.  What!

Keep in mind I had multiple people requesting to see this boat now that I placed it on the market as for sale.  The first couple people who wanted to see it were serious about it - they were patient about the fact that I was taking it to Aransas Pass to get warrenty work done on it.  They went down to Aransas Pass to view it and test ride in it the day I took down there... the day following the completion of the repair work the first guy who test drove it 5 days earlier purchased it... and I was worring about selling it. Go figure.

Well, it's a big thing having 1 come off assembly line and another needing to be sold... haha... actually had 7 very interested people in that HO.  Had the enjoyable task to now telling them it was sold.

I have to say Chris Coulter of Chris's Marine made it happen... took care of the warrenty work in one day - all the paper work (title and warrenty transfers)... as well as hosted the buyer of my boat at his shop.  All while I was in Houston.  ETA is April 15... so not much fishing - but I've been out with my Redfish tournament partner locating them...
With the coming of February I decided to go down to Robstown and visit with Chris Coulter of Chris's Marine at their local Boat Show.  I was very impressed with Chris's new Haynie boat - the 'Magnum'. So impressed I ordered one for 2013.  Excepted delivery time will be 7 weeks from time of order... great, gives me time to sell my 2010 HO.

The Houston Boat, Sport and Travel Show was a great success this years date was January 4th thur 13th. Didn't do much fishing during the month of January.

Updates and some photos...

A repeat from earlier today... I know I haven't kept up with my Fishing Reports like I should for 2012. I appologize for that. I lost one camera and two montho of photos... once I got a replacement camera I failed to keep up to date with my reports. I have some photos that I'm going to start posting today - hope to have most of them posted by the end of the day... Hope you enjoy them. Normally, I'll have a story to tell with the postings even if it's just a line or two - but with the time constrants I'm just going to post the following photos for now... Starting now and for 2013 I will be diligent and post daily to weekly reports and photos for all to enjoy and appreciate...
